Beginner/Intermediate Burlesque Fusion - Performance Class

Day & Time: Sundays (April 12 - May 24)

6:00pm to 8:00pm

No class on May 17

Duration: 6-Week Session (2 hour classes)

Location: Ted Motyka Studio (460 Main St., Winnipeg, MB)

*Age restriction - Must be 18+ to register for this class.

*Please note that we have TWO TYPES of classes -

Perform in ONE SHOWCASE (on FRIDAY, MAY 29)

Perform in TWO SHOWCASES (on THURSDAY, MAY 28 & SATURDAY, MAY 30)

Performance Dates

*In this session, there will be two classes learning the same routine at the same time in studio, performing in the showcases on separate nights.

When registering you will be able to select which option you would like (one performance or two performances).

*Each student must be available for the tech rehearsal on WEDNESDAY, MAY 27 at 7:30PM.

** Learn and perfect 1 Burlesque Fusion dance routine from start to finish in 6-Weeks, which you will perform on stage in our Burlesque in the Basement showcase(s).

Pricing

Full Session PRICE = $200.00 +gst
Costume deposit = $10.00
TOTAL PRICE = $210.00 +gst

*The costume deposit of $10 will go toward the final costume price. Once the session has begun the class will agree on a costume that we will order together. We keep the costume fee at a minimal price (approximately between $25-50) to make it affordable for everyone.

Overview

Burlesque Fusion focuses on the aspects of seduction and sensual movements, with no strip-tease and adds aspects of jazz & hip-hop dance set to upbeat and sultry pop music. Prairie Diva’s goal is to encourage people to get out of their comfort zone and feel confident in their own skin. Burlesque Fusion is open to all levels, shapes and sizes of adults and is a safe space to express yourself and strut it down the dance floor!

*Beginner/Intermediate – No previous dance experience is necessary. Class is adapted to the level of the group. Medium-high intensity.

What to Wear

Please wear clothing you feel comfortable dancing in. Most people like to wear athletic clothing such as yoga pants or shorts with a tank top for example. Some students prefer to dance in heels, but sneakers, jazz dance shoes, character dance shoes or bare feet are also an option (just as long as you have indoor shoes). For the on-stage performance at the end of the session, a black heel of some sort will work best (character dance or ballroom shoe or heel boot for example). We'll chat more about performance costuming/shoes in class.
